ADULT TOURNAMENTS

Eligability

• Open to adult (18+) athletes ready to compete!
• All teams must include at least one male and one female player.

team entry

• The entry fee for our Adult 4x4 tournament is $100/team or $25 per team member.
  
• Entry fee will be paid upon arrival and check-in the day of the tournament.
  
• All fees must be collected before tournament will begin!

reverse 4s format:

Teams: 4 players on the court — typically 2 men and 2 women.

Net Height: Women’s height (7’4 1/8” / 2.24m).

Court Size: Standard indoor court (60' x 30').

Pool Play: rally scoring to 21 points, cap at 25.

Bracket Play: Best of 3 sets, rally scoring to 25, win by 2.

Rules:

1. Gender-Specific Rules

• Women play in the front row — they are the only players allowed to attack in front of the 10-foot line.
• Men must attack from behind the 10-foot line (even when jumping).
• Men may not block.
• Women may block, and only women can form a block at the net.

2. Serving

• All players must serve and remain in their serving order throughout the set.
• Jump serves are allowed. 

3. Rotation

• Standard clockwise rotation, but players must maintain gender positions:
• All players must serve and stay in their serving order
• Women may serve and run to the front row to block/attack
• Substitutions are allowed between points if both genders remain balanced.

4. Setting & Attacking

• All standard indoor volleyball rules for contacts apply.
• Roll shots or knuckles/cobra are allowed
• No open hand tips allowed.
• If a male player attacks the ball from behind the 10-foot line, his jump or takeoff must be behind the line.
• No setter dumps allowed.
• 5. Blocking
• Only women can block.
• A touch off the block does not count as one of the sides 3 contacts.

6. Scoring & Matches

• Rally scoring
• Pool Play: 1 set to 21, rally scoring, cap at 25.
• Bracket Play: Best of 3 to 25, rally scoring, win by 2.

7. Honor System

• Officials will not be provided for this tournament.
• Teams will use the honor system when playing
• Any team who is "off" can jump in to help with calling lines.

8. Reporting Scores

• All scores will be reported to the front desk/tournament director after each match has ended.
• Scores, win-loss records, and pools/brackets can be found at the front desk.

9. Bracket Play

• All bracket play matches will be played best 2 of 3, rally scoring to 25, win by 2
• Only winning teams will advance in the bracket. Losing teams will be eliminated.

10. Odd Number of Teams Entered

• If there is an odd number of teams entered into the tournament:
• Winners in pool play may be given a bye for the first round of bracket play or a cross over match may be played.
• Number of teams entered will determine pool play and bracket formatting

The team who finishes 1st in our AZHYPE Adult 4x4 Tournament will receive American Express Giftcards!

The second place team will receive AZHYPE T-shirts!

CHECK-IN AND START time

Team check-in will begin at 9:30AM and tournament play will begin at 10:00AM.

Team entry fees need to be paid at check-in.
