Ashlynn Medina

Ashlynn, co-owner & founder of AZ Hype, has been coaching in the Valley for close to a decade. Anyone who knows her, knows she has a deep rooted love for the game shares that passion with the volleyball community through intentional, technical training. Ashlynn currently coaches at Revolution Volleyball Academy, Sandra Day O’Connor High School and Arizona High Performance Volleyball for the AZ Region. AZ Hype has been a dream years in the making. Within a dream and a vision to create a space dedicated to growing the game of volleyball through high level training in a space autonomous from club, she is confident players will now to be able to tap into their true potential. After all, AZ Hype is more than a facility. It’s a movement.

Our volleyball journey began when our daughter was invited to play during school lunch in 5th grade. From that moment, she was hooked. We started with developmental leagues and searched for private coaching to help her prepare for club tryouts. That’s when we found Ashlynn Medina at Revolution Volleyball Academy, whose coaching style and easy scheduling made a big impact—though consistent training remained a challenge.
Just 12 weeks before tryouts, our daughter dislocated her knee at a clinic. After a painful ER visit and a long recovery ahead, she set her mind on one goal: getting back on the court in time. With clearance from her doctor, we paired Ashlynn’s coaching with strength training at Elite U—and it made all the difference. She recovered, tried out, and made the 13 Black team at Revolution. We were incredibly proud, and even more grateful she’s remained injury-free since. It was during that first season at a tournament at Arizona Athletic Grounds that inspiration struck. We envisioned a space in the North Valley with volleyball courts, strength training, and a focus on injury prevention. When we shared our dream with Ashlynn, we discovered she had the same vision. That moment sparked a real plan to bring it to life.

Now, after months of planning and partnership, that dream is becoming a reality.
