Next Level Hype Camps will be led by 2026 National Champion and University of Hawaii Head Coach Chad Giesseman, and four 2026 National Champion athletes from the University of Hawaii, Finn Kearney, Louis Sakanoto, Trevell Jordan, and Adrien Roure.

MEET THE Camp COACHES!

University of Hawaii Assistant Coach

Chad Giesseman joined the University of Hawai‘i men's volleyball program as a volunteer assistant for the 2018 season and completed his eighth season on staff in 2024. 


Since joining the program, the Rainbow Warriors have made five NCAA Championship tournament appearances including back-to-back national titles in 2021 and '22. UH has also five 20-win seasons and four Big West tournament titles during his time at UH.

 

At the prep level, Giesseman has served as boys varsity head coach at McKinley High School since 2001 and held a dual role as girls varsity head coach from 2008-2015. In 2012, he led the Tigers to the boys OIA Division II championship where they finished fourth at states. In 2008, he led McKinley girls varsity to an OIA Division II runner-up finish and was named the league's Coach of the Year. He was also the boys varsity head coach at both Hawai'i Baptist Academy (1994-97) and Maryknoll High School (1991-94).

 

Giesseman is also an established coach at the club level, serving as director, founder, and head coach of the Kailua Volleyball Club since 1990. The club has featured numerous UH volleyball alumni and has established itself under Giesseman as the premier Open Division men's club in the state of Hawai'i, with 11 titles at the prestigious Haili Tournament and 14 gold medals at the annual Aloha State Games.

 

In addition, Giesseman is head coach of the SportConX squad of the Premier Volleyball League has coached at both the A'oa Koa Volleyball Club as head coach of the U13 and U14 teams and with the Manoa Beach Club, where he is head coach of the boys U18 team.

2025 (Freshman):

NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team

Appeared in 32 matches with nine starts, including the last eight matches of the season

Finished the season with 1.37 kills per set, hitting .266

Fourth on the team with 21 aces

Selected to the NCAA Championship all-tournament team

First career double-double with 16 kills, 10 digs along with four aces vs. Penn State in NCAA quarterfinals (May 8)

Breakout performance in Long Beach State series with 34 combined kills (3.78 avg.) and earned Big West Freshman of the Week

Made UH debut vs. McKendree (Jan. 3) and tallied seven kills, five digs, and two blocks

First career start at Catawba (Feb. 22) and finished with 14 kills, eight digs, and four blocks

Served final four points of the match in UH’s comeback win over Harvard (Jan. 10)

Eight matches with 10+ kills, including seven straight


National Team:

Member of the United States U19 National Team

Starting outside hitter for the team that captured gold medals at the 2022 NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup in both 2022 and ’23

In 2022, he was selected as the tournament’s Best Opposite and Best Server

Also helped the U.S. finish runner-up at the FIVB U19 World Championships in 2023

 

Prep:

A 2024 graduate of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Ariz.

Lettered in volleyball

Tallied 999 career kills in four seasons, including 450 kills as a senior

Led his team to the 6A state final as a senior

Named The Arizona Republic’s All-Arizona boys volleyball team

Named one of 25 Underclassmen to Watch by VolleyballMag.com

Selected to the watch list of the 2022-23 USA TODAY’s High School Sports Awards Boys Volleyball Player of the Year Award

2025 (Sophomore):

Appeared in 29 matches with 21 starts

Finished the season with 2.39 kills per set, hitting .259

Fourth on the team with 27 aces

Also averaged 1.20 kills per set and 0.56 blocks per set

Served four aces against Long Beach State in Big West Championship finals (April 26)

Season-highs of 15 kills, two aces, eight digs versus Stanford (Feb. 7)

Also had 15 kills with five digs and four blocks against UC San Diego (March 29)

Named Big West Player of the Week after averaging 4.00 kills per set, hitting .412 in the UCSD series

Tallied 13 kills, eight digs, and two blocks in first start of the season at BYU (Feb. 1)

2024 (Freshman):

Also had 19 kills, nine digs, and three blocks against CSUN (March 23)

Career-high six blocks along with 15 kills vs. UC Santa Barbara (March 30)


National Team:

Member of France’s U22 National Team which qualified for the European Championship

Has been a part of France's national program for a number of years and his teams have qualified for the 2020 and 2022 European Championships

Was part of the U17 European championship squad in 2019 and U13 and U21 French championship teams

Selected as the top player at the U15 France Championship
